WhiteFly

Last year my Brassicas were alive with WhiteFly:flag:,but this year I have seen none

Has it been a "bad" year for the little buggers or what?:cnfs:

 

More likely to be down to the exceptionally cold winter.:gnthb:

 

Well, I have a bumper crop of whitefly ! Looks like my sprouts may well be ruined :cry:

 

Have them in the greenhouse here but not outside.:thumb:

 

My Brassicas have been swarming with whitefly for a month or two now. I wonder if the debris netting (to keep the Cabbage Whites out) is preventing all their predators getting at them?

 

I've seen much fewer whitefly than usual this year. I normally have plenty caught on the sticky traps in the GH and polytunnel but not many at all this year though I have planted a lot of french marigold plants as deterrents so this will (I hope) have helped a bit.
Plenty greenfly on the plum and apple trees and lots of blackfly mainly on the cherry tree, sunflowers and squash plants. Brassicas are all enviromeshed so had no probs there.
Ladybirds were lower in number than usual this year and hoverflies seemed to appear later than usual.
