Why can I only access the site to post comments if I click on View thread on email messages in my In Box?. If I access the site via Google I have a message telling me to confirm my email in the message in my In Box. There is no such messge.
I have to remember to leave a current members posting in my Inbox or I am stumped.

Do you not just use New Posts @Goldenlily26 ? That's what I do. I keep that bookmarked on my laptop and use that to renew once I've looked at a thread or posted on one.
Perhaps it depends on the browser you're using. I had to change to Firefox [which is slower than a week in the jail] because it doesn't fully work on Chrome.
I don't use the email option either. I rely on alerts, or I'll Bookmark a thread I'm interested in. That doesn't always work because some are changed monthly etc, but I tend to know which ones I'll look at. Using new posts means you can see what's generally happening though.

If you're struggling with it, it's worth asking one of the Mods to take a look

It’s your browser cache and cookies. Go to the Google browser Settings and search for Cookies and Cache. Then delete everything related to google.com.

There seems to be some strange ways of accessing the internet, but I know that is just my opinion, everyone uses possibly what works for them or maybe doesn't.

I'm not great on the technical stuff but I always access all sites via a chrome browser, and I can save the site on bookmarks, just save the new posts page, from then on I just use the New Posts tab at the top of the page.

Not all new posts appear there, I've tried looking for mine but often don't see them there, even though there are newer posts than mine, they are not to be seen.
I find the best way to see what's being posted is by looking at the 'Latest Posts' column on the right of the forums page..

And this comment doesn't appear in the 'new posts' either.

Sounds like you are not logged in on whatever browser Google takes you to @Goldenlily26 . Click on Sign in, enter your username and password and tick the box to stay logged in.

Then add this site to your favourites or bookmark it, that saves having to Google each time .

Your last post doesn't appear in new posts until someone else posts in that thread, you have to refresh the page to see it.
Your post is then behind the new one.

The other way to see your post after posting/thread disappearing, is to click on Recent Posts and you'll see the thread again. I often forget to add something to a post, and that's the quickest way to get back to it. I found it very confusing when I first joined, but it's easy now.
Of course, if my brain worked properly, I'd not forget what I was saying to start with

By using new posts, you only see posts that are new to you personally, so obviously if you just posted it's not new to you.
                If that makes sense.

When the 'Show Off Your Pets 2025' thread is showing in the list (I usually use 'Watched Threads' so it only appears for me when there are new posts) it shows a row of previously posted images. Unfortunately it keeps on showing our cat Murphy (ginger cat to the right of the row) who we tragically lost in May. The loss is still rather raw and I'd prefer not to be reminded of it. Is there any way those images could be prevented from appearing, or do I have to physically remove the posted images from the thread myself?

                  Thanks.

@LunarSea I have hidden those posts with images of Murphy, I hope that solves it. Do let me know if it doesn't work, I fully understand how that would be upsetting.

Many thanks @JWK. Yes that appears to have worked. I thought I might have started to get over the loss by now but apparently not. Anyway thanks again.

Each member usually uses what seems best for them. When I log in I then click on 'Forums' at the top left of the page. Using a PC that shows the list of the forums in the main body and down the righthand side a smaller list of the last 15 topics that have been posted in.

I don't know whether it works that way for other electronic gadgets.
