Very dark out there today, a mix of thick cloud and the approaching shortest day I expect.

Light rain showers on and off for most of the day today but a mild 13C. A bit of a breeze is blowing too.

        Hi,

WOW at 12C it's currently warmer today than some of our mid summer days when I've seen it struggle to reach 10C; of course now there's no frost or ice Blackie is back.

Bron and I visited our friends in Cottingham, Hull Yesterday; back home the car looks like its been off-roading; we drove through massive roadworks near Cottingham which caused the roads to be covered in lots of wet sticky mud now a lot of the mud is ours. I'm not complaining though because I know roadworks are never welcome but longer term are well worth it.

        Kind regards, Colin.

Gosh it’s so grey here, it was still dark at 7.45 this morning, my hens didn’t get up until 8.30! It’s raining very hard.

Same here too our lane is a forgotten one by our Council, my hubs cleans certain areas of ours ,especially outside our property. We have flooding down one end of our lane caused by run off from the nearby hills ,the council finally did some work on it about 5yrs ago adding drainage...but it's never been maintained so the drains are blocked with leaves and mud and overgrown greenery! The car and our footwear need a good clean each time we go to during the winter months. Guaranteed!

The temperature is struggling to get to 50f so at the moment it's 49.3f, there's a SouthWesterly breeze and the weather has gone from gentle showers to gentle rain, which is enough to wet me as during my trips from the House to the Green House. Right now the pressure reading is 979hpa.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

                  Hi,

In spite of Gale & Blackie I've managed to wash the car and just about dry it between downpours. Bucket and brush first to remove most of the mud then with the car soaking wet over with the sponge and shampoo; it took four buckets but I'm happy to see the back of the mud.

In Cottingham and Willerby yesterday massive roadworks and flood defences were being carried out with heavy equipment depositing large amounts of mud on the roads; it couldn't be helped due to the nature of the work but I've never seen our Yeti look such a mess; our friends attended a funeral yesterday afternoon and they too had to drive through the mud but unlike them Bron and I could return home leaving the roadworks behind; being Yorkshire plenty of rain falls adding to the problem.

It's very gloomy indeed outside and I need my desk lamp switched on to see the keyboard but it's mild apart from Gale adding a chill factor; we're forecast snow for Christmas but I'll wait and see. We keep having heavy showers and at dinnertime I thought it was April; sunshine one minute pouring with rain the next minute.

I'm looking forward to the weekend; two full days in the workshop where I can shut the world and all it's problems out; just brilliant.

                  Kind regards, Colin.

Walked the boys at 2pm and got soaked, had to put my jacket in the tumble dryer and i don't usually do that. It's a lot milder than yesterday temp 11c.

Wet and windy this morning turning to showers this afternoon. The wind dropped and the sun blazed through for about 20 minutes, then vanished not to be seen again. 9C/48F

Shortest daylight hours are on Wednesday and at a standstill for a number of days before opening up again. :)
