    Hi all,

My partners mum is holding a charity garden event at their house soon and I am going to sort their garden out for them while they are on holiday the next couple of weeks as a surprise.

So if anyone has any cheap perennials for sale please message me! I'd really like to bulk out the garden with some flowers rather than leaving it full of overgrown shrubs and empty flowerbeds!

    Thanks,

    Samuel

The problem is timing, most plants are starting to close down now ready for the winter, setting seed. Herbaceous perennials die back down into the ground and re-emerge in spring, if you buy or get any shrubs, they need to make a good root system before winter and you are unlikely to get anything to flower if not already flowering . You may be able to buy locally in supermarkets, garden centres, plants large enough to fill spaces, but to send specimens of a flowering size through the postal/courier system would be expensive, and the packaging would be difficult.

Ah apologies I should have been more specific in the post. I'm not necessarily looking for plants that will be flowering now I'm thinking more long term there but bare earth looks rubbish in my eyes so if I can get some plants down to fill the gaps with a bit of green that's still a win for the time of the party.

I also should have mentioned that I'm looking for stuff in Sheffield or near enough that I can come and pick up in the car. if anyone knows of any particularly cheap nurseries that are decent that would also sort me out :)

      Cheers :dbgrtmb:

Car boot sales and Freecycle is the place to find cheap or free plants.
