On the whole I agree @shiney regarding the greenhouse. I just think at the moment the day and night temps are such a vast contrast and despite ventilating it the greenhouse has been getting so very hot in the daytime lately.
So I like to make sure that they are all snuggly tucked in at night!:heehee::spinning:

I suppose it must also help in our greenhouse that we have a few thousand plants with some of them being large (2ft-3ft shrubs that are not winter hardy) and being overwintered for friends. The plants and the soil they're in must also retain warmth. :blue thumb:

            Aloha everyone,

I hope to get a little bit more work done in the garden today if I don't feel too cold.

We have someone coming to pick up their tomato plants tomorrow which will give more space for us in the greenhouse. They've got quite advanced and we have been pinching out the side shoots. We told them to pick them up because they need repotting and we don't have the space for that.

            Keep well

            Aloha!

Hi @Flumpy ,Hmmm it is worrying ,she was very worried about her leg and was concerned that it might be Thrombosis in her last post!

Thanks yes those seedlings are fine as they are the ones that get carried in and out every day. The worry is with all the others that's I take a risk leaving out, however I did bring a few extra in last night.;)

Thank goodness for bubble wrap and fleece!!! So far all have survived and are looking good!:dbgrtmb:

Space???? Never heard of the word @shiney !!:heehee:

We've just got an email from the person for the tomatoes who is worried about the cold weather. So we have decided they will remain in our care but they shall have to leave the warmth of the propagator as it's needed for other things. They are already 2ft high! We shall start to harden them off by putting out in the sun during the day and on the benching at night. We've told her to come round with pots and compost and to repot them.

I'm going to try and rig up some temporary protection by sectioning off the end of the greenhouse with plastic and some of the warmth from the propagator should keep the temperature a little higher in that section. We shall need to rearrange plants for the more needy to be in that section. :rolleyespink:

Hi Upsydaisy & Shiney, just got sat down & having a cup of tea to warm up bbbrrrr. Yes I remember Moyra mentioned her leg, hope she’s ok, she doesn’t like going to the doctors does she.
I’ve just had to bring my new Becopas in from my greenhouse, think the frost was getting to them, my sweet peas are doing ok though :dbgrtmb:

No you're right there @Flumpy , she certainly seems not too keen on Drs!!

Are your Bacopas young plants?. I just cut mine back each year in both pots and in the borders, some are coming into flower now. They seem to survive the elements each winter. They also self seed easily and once the babies are big enough I then replant them elsewhere.:blue thumb:

                            Aloha everyone,

                            I agree :grphg:

It has been a busy morning :phew:. An early delivery from Sainsbury's (still dark then) and everything checked and put away. I have mad a gallon of chicken soup and marinated and roast a load of chicken wings for meals or snacking. All done by 9.30 so it gives me time to get out in the garden.

I got the bonfire done yesterday so shall check it this morning, rake all the debris from round the fire and put it in the middle which should still be smouldering. Then it will be digging out more alliums as they have really gone mad.

                            Keep well

                            Aloha!
