Now, now, bit drastic for a case of the sniffles (typical bloke) :pathd: <----- see! I put you down so you don't have to! :hapfeet: (Gosh, I'm just so generous this evening :heehee: )
Which other home remedies have you tried? Maybe there is something we could suggest that you haven't tried already? :dunno:

I can't remember the last bad cold I had... Maybe living in a cold place keeps all of the germs frozen... :)

Ah, I see what is going on here. You have a bit of the old 'gardenericum boredsillyus' virus; very difficult to treat at this time of the year due to the weather.

However, as you are a private patient, nothing but the best for you! So, here is a prescription that should help things along. Please remember that you should not drive or operate machinery whilst taking this medication; this medication causes drowsiness and may affect motor function - this is temporary and generally clears within 24hrs of your last dose.

1 x Glass Container (clear, sterile glass, 700ml)

Each dose of 35ml to be taken orally, ad-hoc until symptoms ease. Dose works best if it is taken slowly, and not swallowed all in one.

Although not recommended, this medicine can also be taken with another chemical compound, as long as it is in its solid state at the time of dispensing. This compound (H2O) can be dispensed in many shapes depending on your preference.
