No idea but clearly not beyond your capabilities :blue thumb:

Don't expect the seed grown one to look the same. It might come true or it may revert back as the parent is almost certainly a cultivar.

How exciting! Hope you get some nice flowers but they probably won't be like the parent. Interesting, nevertheless. You may be lucky and get something really nice.

It's about 3 inches tall now.. slowly growing.

It was taken from my uncle's garden when he moved house when I was a kid (probably 22 years ago now) and he died in October 2014, so will be nice to grow something from one of the seeds. Even if it's just a tree without flowers I'd be happy  I think it'll be years before any major update on it, though.

Just out of interest, does anyone know the name of what type of Camellia the parent plant is?

                Thanks :snorky:

Does anyone think it could be Camellia Japonica 'Mrs Charles Cobb'?

The leaves appear waxier than these, though.

                Or, the 'Great Eastern'?

Which has waxy leaves, similar to my tree/plant.

I believe my Camellia to be 'Dr Burnside' after a few weeks of searching.

I'm going to try and turn the seedling into a bonsai over the next few years, see how it goes!
