Well at least the Conservatives are acting with a little dignity and not dragging their heels as regards to their leadership problems.......

There will be a meeting of the Board of the Conservative Party tomorrow and the 1922 Committee on Wednesday this week with nominations opening straight after that. Nominations will then close at noon on Thursday this week. The new leader will then be in place just over 9 weeks later on Friday the 2 September.

So, Jeremy Corbin stop all your prattling about, hanging on by your fingernails and resign now. Show at least a little dignity and lets start moving forwards.

Breaking news from George Osbourne "UK best placed to withstand Brexit recession"

Remember George Gordon Brown's pre-crash ascertation In 2008 " UK best placed to weather recession".

So why no need now for GO's promised emergency 'spite' budget?

Perhaps because he didn't know then that Mark Carney was gonna come up with £250 billion.

PS... It was Gordon Brown :)

Ta, Gordons's been so long gone/irrelevant I couldn't even remember his name, but I can still remember seeing the other GB publicly speaking so pis inebriated that he was making V signs to the audience disagreeing with him, so anybody would be easily confused about any difference between them.

The person who said it to Justyna is her manager,
She is applying for other jobs at the moment,

I tend to think this kind of points out what is totally wrong with the EU, and possibly why myself and a lot of others voted to leave.

What right has this person to say what he is saying.
I was under the impression the EU consisted of 27 countries.
So why is he allowed to make such statements without first asking ,....Greece, Spain, Netherlands, etc. etc.

Its German run, and we all have to tow the line.

                I agree,
We need a spell for things to settle just a bit.
Bear in mind its only 4 days since the result and two of those were the weekend.

Its our choice when we do it and the EU should not try to push us.

                  Hi Pete,

                  Sorry but I disagree.

To look at it in another way, it's a contract which is being terminated.

For example...... If you give your notice in at work you have a set leaving date. You don't go and tell your boss " well I'm gonna leave but I'm not gonna tell you when I'm gonna work my notice from. It might be next month, it might be in there months time. "

We've got to have a set date and then all work together for the next two years ( or however long it takes ) to reach a final conclusion.

No anthony the rules state that its up to us when we set the ball rolling.
As I understand it, we then have two yrs before we actually leave, so two years notice is enough, I only have to give my boss one week, but I'd give him more than that.;)

I think you've misunderstood my meaning Pete.

All I'm saying I that we shouldn't string it out over the coming months.

We'll have a new PM on 2nd September so the ball should be started rolling as soon after that as is feasible. Not strung out until Nov/Dec or whenever.

Sorry, but I think 'out' is 'out' the EU needs stability and the UK needs to exit asap. There must be around 4.5 million people like me who currently face a very uncertain future as talks on our status/rights cannot begin until Article 50 is triggered. I'm not comforted in the least by people who are not in a position to make ANY decisions telling us it will be alright.

The referendum said "Leave", but that is just the decision within the UK, its still up to our parliament to put it into action when they see fit.
Not when the EU thinks we should.

To be absolutely fair, I believe the EU *and* the UK need stability!

The Labour Party are falling apart right now and the Conservative Party are looking for a new leader. Neither situation can be resolved over night and will take some time. So far, we only know a timeline for the new leader of the CP. If certain members of the Labour Party have their way, they too may be looking for a new leader in the near future. Negotiations cannot begin under these circumstances; it is not practicable.

In reality, it is not just the 4.5 million, such as yourself, who are facing an uncertain future, the whole of the UK is too.

There is no timeline on triggering Article 50
