    My courgettes are growing so that they are fat at 1 end and thin at the other is there any reason for this,i have been pollinating them(do i need to do this?)

    Not in my experience, I don`t think homegrown ever look look the regimented supermarket type.

      Ive just been out and the courgettes i mentioned about being fat 1 end and thin the other have gone soft on the thin end and are only about 4" long somethings definately not right pamsdish any ideas as to whats happening would be appreciated.

      Hi Chris, I've had that happen a few times, especially early in the season. I cut them off the plant, and use the "fat" end straight away (texture and taste is fine). Once the plant is in full cropping mode, it tends not to happen again. I think it's to do with borderline growing conditions?
