    Hi All,

Months ago I posted on here about needing planning permission for decking in my front garden.

Well, since then, I didn't need permission and things has moved on. I should have done this on here, but I have been doing a blog about my front garden as it was easier to do on my phone. You can read my blog at https://frontgardenbuild.wordpress.com/

I would like to share with you what I have been up to and keep you up to date with future gardening. My plan is to have a nice cottage garden and no doubt I'll be needing help & advice from you.

That is great :dbgrtmb: and looks like there's so much more space to play with now. You and your dad must be very proud of what you've done and I hope you've treated him to a few beers/teas for all his hard work! The little rockery in the middle looks lovely too and glad you kept the tree :)

can I be nosey..what are you planning with the posts? and what do you plan to plant around?

          Thanks @Linz and @CanadianLori

Aye if it wasn't for dad, I wouldn't have anything like this.

The front post is for a bird table and the post near the house is for a Wisteria (when my local gc gets some in next spring) to grow up & I'll put a bar across to the house so it be trained across.

Planning to plant, that's tricky because there's many to chose from that I like. I want to put evergreen plants in as my main plants to give interest all year. Buxus, Rhododendron, fir trees, etc. Then plants that die off each year or the leaves drop off. After that bedding plants. But as for a design, I'm playing it as I go because I think as I go I can see what will look best where if that makes sense

Here's a list of plants I've got so far and busy planting:-

          Hydrangea Magical Ruby Red
          Coronilla Citrina
          5 x Wallflowers Erysimum Skies
          Rhododendron Marcel Menard
3 x Kangaroo Paws Bush Gems
LEWISIA Little Peach LEWISIA Little Plum
Callicarpa bodinieri geraldii Profusion-Beauty Berry "Profusion"
          SCABIOSA "STRAWBERRY PARFAIT"
          Thuja Occidentalis Fire Chief
          Chamaecyparis Obtua Nana Gracilis
          Alstroemeria Feline

          I’ve grown these from seed
          Foxglove Apricot
          Carnation White
          Delphinium, magic fountain
          Sweet William, Auricula Eye
          Lupin, Russel Strain Mix
          Cornflower, C-Cyanus

                  What a transformation! :dbgrtmb:
Love it all but especially loving the bird table; not simply because it is a pretty design (and very country cottage) but the way it suddenly pulls the whole look together as a cohesive whole.
The planting sounds wonderful and, from what you have planted so far, is going to be splendid.

You should feel very proud @clum111

So, when is the party to celebrate the official opening of the bird table? [IMG]

Wow! That's looking a whole lot different clum! You and your dad have obviously put a lot of thought into it as well as the hard work. :dbgrtmb: I'm looking forward to seeing the plants when they start to mature and when the Wisteria is under way. :)
