St Nicholas church Moreton near Dorchester, bombed during the war and rebuilt in the 50's but the clear replacement glass was not liked by the locals so glass engraver an etcher Lawrence Whistler was commisioned to decorate the windows and over 30 years this is what he produced.
    The detail is stunning!!

The green trees behind make this house almost appear to be outside .

This etching of Judas's hanging was only installed in 2014 as it was disliked by the congregation and put in Dorchester museum for years.

:love30: Absolutely beautiful work; one very skilled man, indeed! :love30:

Your photographic skills do his work justice and I am so pleased that you chose to share these with us. Thank you!

You're right about the house on the hill (wonder if that was by accident or design?); fabulous!

@"M" I doubt whether it was as the trees behind (about 30 yards away) being Oaks they wouldn't be in leaf all year but it just appeared that way.

What if the house is really there, but so marginally out of phase from 'normal reality' that most can't see it?

                      Hi Strongy,

Hope you don't mind me butting in on your thread.
This is a drawing I did of Moreton church around ten years ago which shows the windows from the outside.........
