The weather in Ramsgate, Kent is the same as most who have posted. Two rows of Potatoes are flattened, Runner beans have been bashed with the Slugs & Snails having a feast. I'm hoping that the Potato tops recover otherwise I'll have to start digging.....Roll on Summer:rolleyespink:

It hasn't stopped raining all day.....and it's cold. No winds, but a little cold. Suffice to say, no gardening today.

Cloudy first thing but quickly became a lovely sunny day.....bit breezy though :yay:
Got home to cut grass and inspect for plant damage following yesterday's wind and rain. Only the tallest delphiniums were damaged.......walled coastal garden.....but more spikes are coming.
Picked carrots, spring onions, radishes and lettuce......all the sweetest poss :dancy:

8mm of rain last night and another 12mm this morning, the odd heavy fleeting shower this afternoon but they didn't really add to the rain total that much.

Wind has been the big problem, after the whole winter without a proper storm, then basically a very quiet spring everything is, or was, pretty soft and leafy.
Lots of damaged trees and shrubs, my nanas have been shredded and they were only just getting going.

Off topic, I wasn't around back then, but I'm sure @ARMANDII will remember it.
Wasn't it similar weather in 1944?

Here, in my local area, we've had the most rain, in a day, of the year.........nearly 15mm. We've had heavy showers with very little time in between until around 2pm. The winds gusted up to 22mph making the rain come in waves across the garden while the temperature managed to get to 57f.
At the moment it's stopped raining, the temperature is 55f, the pressure is 980hpa, and the winds have dropped to around 3mph.:coffee::snorky:

Not a lot better here today but it should start to break around noon tomorrow. Non-stop steady rain since midnight with a fairly strong northerly wind. A chilly 10C/50F.

Back on the Isle of Man T.T.'s practice week (last week) was pretty much a washout and this weeks race week isn't looking good. No change there then!
