    Morning everyone.....misty and overcast. Feels cooler but pleasant.
    Had a walk to the beach.....it was silent, a few rabbits scampering about, a fox gave me a glance as if I shouldnt be there, sea was calm and the lighthouse shrouded in mist. Lovely :)
    Hand in pocket time later.....have to buy a washing machine and tumble drier to help start off a new home; my haggling skills will be put to good use! Just the start...I have promised to pay for carpets and flooring :thud:....(ha ha, no I am v happy about it :yay:, honestly :love30:.......prob have to resist plant purchasing for a while)

      Morning all windy but sunny here will move some self seeded foxgloves as they are in the wrong place ,than this afternoon take a walk on the sea front only 20 minutes drive away Tynemouth Cullercoats and Whitley Bay ,Have a good one all

      @Verdun If they're secondhand then be careful about the make. There are a lot of the dangerous ones still not fixed. From memory they are Whirlpool (the main culprit) and Creda, Indesit and Proline (all the same company). The Fire Brigade also issued warnings about some tumble dryers but I can't remember which ones.

          Thanks Shiney. :) ...no, brand new...but you are right about the caution. The Finsbury fire was caused by a faulty machine I think.
          Good morning everyone. Looking bright out there....v pleasant.
          Yanked out a superb purple lupin yesterday much to the astonishment of a neighbour.......it was a choice between it and a salvia guanajuato just about to flower and a nearby sanguisorba Blackthorn. The lupin was divided into 3 and potted up.

          Yes Upsy....I recorded the Autistic Gardener and watched it last evening. I think I am hooked too :rasp:

            One of the major problems with Tumble Dryers, and I have a Tumble Dryer, is a self made one in that people don't remove the fluff from the filters after they've used one:wallbanging:. A colleague of mine is a National Fire and Accident Investigator and he believes, from experience of investigating, that it's one of the major causes of fires in Tumble Dryers as the fluff is highly combustible if allowed to build up:snorky:.

              Although, in some cases the design has been clearly linked as a causal factor, not least in the Hotpoint/Indesit/Creda camp - - in some ways, I feel really sorry for Whirlpool as they only bought the company in 2014, and now they are reaping what the prior owners sowed.

                I agree entirely, FC.:snorky: But it should be highlighted that it's not just the manufacturer's to blame but also a majority of the fires are due to users "ignorance" that keeping the filters clean and getting into a practice of removing the fluff from the filters will go a far way to keeping things safe.:dunno::snork:

                  Do people actually know here their filters are? On our machine it's simple, even for a Luddite like myself. The filter is in the door and is virtually impossible to miss. To clean it takes all of 10 seconds.

                  If all machines were like that then there would be a considerable lowering of the risk involved.

                    Most are in very convenient positions, Shiney, and it doesn't take a great deal of head scratching to find the filter. I think the main problems are that [a] a lot of users don't know that they should remove the fluff and keep the filters clean those that do know just are too lazy or "busy" to take the effort.:wallbanging::dunno::snorky:
