Ask the green keeper at your local bowling club, or any gardener who just lost all his prize plants.... although I work with local rescue, and take care not to use chemicals and plastic netting etc that hurts creatures - plant stuff especially for birds and bees, and create wildlife habitats by the dozen, killing the odd mole is necessary, I cannot run my business well unless I do. The trouble is, if I ask them nicely to go away, they simply don`t seem to understand.

Well after 12 months graft and I do mean graft turning what was a wilderness into what should be our joy and inspiration dug up with abandon I feel just a wincy bit peeved.

Sadly the Jeyes Fluid trick was short lived so now I've put down proper mole poison.

Just be careful if you go the "professional" route.

An old friend used to tell me stories of when he would go out with his Grandad as a nipper, who would be called to take care of moles on farmland where we grew up in Shropshire. His crafty Grandad would do the job to a degree, but would sometimes let them loose in the next field to fatten his brown envelope, by prolonging the job.
So be aware of chancers like the above

Well the wee buggers are slowing down now and we've had a couple of days with no digging. It seems the poison may be sorting them out.

I'm keeping you informed as throughout this process I've seen people almost in despair when thier gardens get ruined after moles move in and the difficulty in getting rid. They are taking the poison so it must have effect .

I take zero pleasure in killing creatures quite the opposite. But in this case it has to be done.

Two more days have passed with no signs of the moles.

Poison as much as I dislike killing seems to be the answer to what can be an incredibly difficult pest to control.

Time will tell but I carefully marked where I laid the material and it's all gone.

              Another update.

No more moles. Well not since the poison went down and a bit of time allowed for it to work.

So anyone who gets the pretty annoying and difficult to shift moles move in don't bother with traps just get some Raco rat poison off Ebay and pop it into the runs. :blue thumb:
