I guess it's one of those "wait and see" things, Pal, as the professional Astronomers and Scientists say it could go tomorrow, but not likely, or in a million years time. When, and if, it become a Super Nova then we won't come to any harm as we'd need to be in the 50 Light Year range whereas we're about 640 Light Years away.:coffee:

Easier to see the old twinkling stars tonight without the moon, so just photographed Orion's nebula :)

Yep, it's a clear night tonight, Gail, so the Observatory is powered up and I'll be taking images at certain times when certain targets are in the Skies. But I've got to be up early in the morning so I'll not be observing until the early hours.:dunno::coffee::snorky:

I've been trying for the last two nights, Martin, to get some good sharp shots of the Moon last night and tonight but those thin veils of cloud that were there last night, today, are still there now so every thing looks clear to the eye........but not to the camera:doh::wallbanging::snorky:

Some images from the night of the 15th February while still testing the Gain and Offset sensitivity of the Camera sensor...........

Regulus, about 79 Light Years away[474 Trillion miles] [which looks like one Star but is actually two pairs of stars very close together.

Hydrobius is around 167 [1002 Trillion miles] Light Years away,
                        [IMG]

Rigel, is 863 [5178 Trillion miles] Light Years away.

Sirius is 8.6 [51.6 Trillion miles] Light Years away.

Betelgeuse is about 640 [5840 Trillion Miles] Light Years away....looked quite fiery that particular night.
