Planting in poor weather

Hi everyone,

I intended to plant a fruit tree and start on my border today. Obviously UK weather has decided to snow and forecast rain later.

Is it a big no to planting in this weather?

Has the tree been outside so hardened to the cold, is where you intend to plant it waterlogged, if yes to 1st and no to 2nd, you should be fine, OR wait until Thursday 17 degrees forecast.

 

Hi, yes has been outside. That’s fine. I may be better waiting until Thursday then. Bank holiday gardening plans scuppered lol

 

Depends on how well your soil drains too Lee.
If the soil is not wet then get out there and plant your tree today.
Even if Thursday is fine your soil may still not be any drier than it is now. I
