I seem to have bumble bees in my brick air vents of my house. I've been watching them coming and going for a few days. I hope they can't get into any of my rooms.

You should be ok Jane they will be under the floor boards,

I had them nesting in the cavity last year this year i have what i think are honey bees nesting in the summer house eaves they don't appear to be hurting anything so i let them get on with what there doing.

Only if you take the floorboards up :)

Don't move anything near the nest entrance as they locate it by sight :)

I have stone floors as in a bungalow. They are in the air brick located high up next to my bathroom where I have one of those fans built into wall for steam . I'm just scared stiff they can get in.

They would have been in already :)

They won't hurt you if they bumble in, just stay still till they bumble out :)

One comes in my caravan window, has a look around then goes out the door :)

In response to 'what's flying about'. I live upstairs. Looking out of my kitchen window, wowee all those bugs flying about. I wonder where the swifts, martins and swallows are. It was always a comment from and old work mate. Over a cuppa, he would often say. You can set your watch by them little birds. They arrive each year on time. They don't need no maps to find their way here. Sadly for the past three years, I haven't seen any of our little friends locally. I do vist some of their nesting sites when in the New Forest. I wonder what's gone wrong.

A lot of people are wondering why there has been a decline in Swifts Swallows and Martins over the last few years but no one has come up with a definite answer yet. Could be habitat loss here or lack of food where they over winter in Africa but a lack definitely!!
