What seeds are you sowing?

It's that time of the year, annuals are mostly planted and the greenhouse is all potted up and growing nicely. So are any of you sowing biennials or perennials yet?
I'm not yet but the seed trays and compost are ready and the seed tin keeps calling to me
Give me some inspiration, what are you sowing?

 

Protea.

Also have some lavender, rusty foxglove and Persian silk tree seeds that I bought at the Kew Really Big Gardens.

 

Just read the instructions for the Persian silk tree... same as Protea


But I will still try....

Started the Persian silk tree seeds today. I guess it's going to be a race between them and the Protea.

I guess I really should start those Rusty Foxglove too...

 

Much more exciting than the basil I've sown
Campanula and gherkins are next on my list

 

I will be asking my youngest daughter to earn some pocket money and sow some wallflower seeds pretty soon, I know some say they are old fashioned, but I like what I like and pretty much other than Pampas grass (more 1980s than filofaxes and tshirts saying "CHOOSE LIFE") I don't see fashions in gardening - good looking plants are good looking plants!

 

I've got some verbena bonariensis, dianthus deltoides "Microchip" and alchemilla mollis on the go - all looking quite promising.

I fell in love with Dianthus deltoides after buying an Arctic Fire plant last year. It really is the most delightful little thing and seems to love it here, creeping over the edge of my pond, so fingers crossed the others do equally well!

 

This afternoon I've had a rummage through my seed tin.
I was surprised at how much I've got that can be sown at this time of the year Most of them are out of date, but they don't know that, right? ( I'm a seed hoarder I'm afraid )
Up to now I've sown foxglove 'Alba', delphinium 'tall mixed' and marguerite daisies.
Wallflowers will definitely be going in @PetalsonthePavingSlabs, I love them

 

Good thread. And so glad it's not me that seems to have a backlog of seeds that can be sown now...

I think what happens is that I'm so relieved to get the veg out in the garden, that I want to have a break from looking after seedlings for a while. But the lovely seed packets still tempt me when I'm shopping, so they gradually build up. I haven't time to go through the seed box (organised by month of sowing), just now, as it's probably a morning's worth of work, but I know that May, june and July have lots of packets in them. Mainly herbaceous perennials. We hare seriously expanded our growing beds, in many different areas of the garden, so I could do with a glut of plants to fill them, once the bedding plants go over!

I know what you mean @Sian in Belgium, it's a relief to get all the little seedlings up and planted
I haven't tended my garden properly for a few years. I noticed a definite lack of colour early this year, hence early flowering biennials

 

Well, I've just down some more mangetout peas (Oregon sugar pod), some cornflowers, some snowdrop seeds (i.e. Seed pods that had gone soft, and the sprouting seeds released), pink opium poppies, and general wild-flower mix -> all in situ.
This evening I hope to sow some little gem and mazur lettuce, and some turnips.

If I have any energy left after potting on my 30-odd chilli plants , I will sow some indoor seeds I think there are packs of astilbe, salvia in the "to sow" pile, but probably another 3-4 packs as well!

I've sown some more peas, kelvedon wonder, and some lettuce. I also sprinkled some night scented stock in a pot outside the back door, old seed but
I got my 'to do' pile of seeds out this morning but unfortunately my motivation vanished
