I have four of these in my lawn and carefully strimmed round them before mowing the lawns today. They stand roughly four inches in height.

How lovely for you @Sheal . I have a small clump too. I am pretty sure they are marsh orchids. Mine are in the horse's paddock. The 1st time I noticed 1 I went flying in to get my camera to take a photo of it as I had never seen 1 before, Twinkletoes (horse!) had seen me peering at something and came to investigate while I was off getting my camera. By the time I got back to the paddock Twinkletoes had scoffed the flower. Could have shot him:wallbanging::rolleyespink:. I was convinced the wee bugg.. had a smile on his face while chewing away. I told him I hope it choked him...it didn't!

Hi Sheal it's Dactylorhiza, a native British Orchid.
