Solved Help please identifying this perennial

I'd appreciate any help identifying this rather attractive perennial in our garden. It looks like a salvia is some respects but despite a lot of searching on Google I haven't found a match yet! The flowers are small and blue. The leaves have a serrated edge and are deeply textured. Note that small leaflets (bracts?) grow up the stem, interspersed with the flower buds. I'm not very good with plant identification , but I was wondering if it was Russian sage? Perovskia atriplicifolia although I'm sure you've already checked that already?

 

I think Perovskia is more woody and the leaves more silvery, Sian, but maybe Agastache?

Thank You for your suggestions so far. Unfortunately I think the photo I originally uploaded was a bit misleading as it only shows the mystery flower in bud. I've now found a photo of the same flower a week or so later in full flower. Things to note are that the flowers are two-tone (blue and white), the very distinctive salvia-like flower shape and also the graceful arching contour of the flower stem. I'm sure someone out there will recognise it.

Scutellaria (lateriflora?) - a close relative of Salvia. Lovely plant!

Bingo!!!!! Well done! I was working on the assumption it was a Salvia, though the leaves aren't fragrant which was a clue that I was barking up the wrong tree! According to Wikipedia Scutellaria lateriflora is a member of the Mint family, and its common names are "Blue Skullcap", "Mad Dog Skullcap" and "Side Flowering Skullcap". It's a native species of North America and loves wet conditions.....which is probably why it thrives here in North West England!
