          Hi Gail,

They look right but I'm just worried about the timing.

Just that Flamenco are early and not repeat flowerers so should have finished by now.

When I was choosing them..there was more but just in certain colours and they had been cut back on parts and those was flowering and mine had none except for one head and I thought that would be it but they keep going but I just found this info :)

'Flamenco' _ 'Flamenco' is an evergreen perennial with strap-shaped leaves with yellow, orange or fiery red spikes of tubular flowers from early summer to early autumn. If sown early, will flower early autumn in its first year.

My view is to remove those spikes BigC ......helps promote energy for bigger and better plants next spring and summer. It is amazing how much energy is expended in producing flowers esp on young plants.
                  I would also give a feed :)

Will be busy elsewhere so no gardening today except for lawn mowing later. A beautiful day, already been for a swim (water is very warm....about 19 degrees I think)
My ordered online plants have been dispatched for delivery tomorrow...always exciting:rasp:

Hope everyone has a good and healthy day :)

@Gail_68 how did you get on with the handheld hedge/shrub trimmer my friend? :) I know I asked you briefly before but I can’t find the post. Do you think it would happily cut through a leggy Privet? What model is it again? :ideaIPB: Thank you

Hello Mark, the hedge trimmer is ok for such as lavender plants or if you have the extension handle hedges of lawns but regarding the slightly longer cutter I tried it on the birch tree, it was ok with fresh stems with new growth but the harder stems no mate and it's now on amazon for £48-69 it's been put back up again in price...it's now sitting here idol :dunno: until I use it on the large lavender.

                          This is mine [IMG]

This ones selling on ebay for £51-99 but on Amazon it's £44-99 and 1.140 people have given reviews and it rate 41/2 out of 5 and it is for privets etc.
