Yes I'm slightly miffed I have nowhere really to start off my seeds but hey ho, the garden is like a building site so nowhere to put my big blowaway but I did bring the small 4 tier blowaway home today so I can at least put my onions and some flowers out in that. Windowsills are taken up by cats..

Last year I sowed my peas (before now) in gutters, it worked pretty well so will do that again and probably this weekend. The lady I mentioned, her peas were about half a foot high (and her sweetcorn!).. there's snow forecast for wednesday!

@Linz - no worries - I'd forgotten I had posted here anyway lol.

Looks like you are doing well on these though Linz - just waiting for the weather! I'm pretty much the same. I daren't to my tatties because its a bit wet and don't trusdt the weather to put peas etc in. Just got onions and garlic in.

Got some leeks starting off in cells, some courgettes, squashes and toms. Planning on sowing peas and french beans direct. I read in my gardeners' world Veg book about doing peas in gutters so I think I might do that like yourself!

Yup, just needs to dry out a bit more and we'll be on our way :)

The peas in gutters was brill, big tip that helped me last year was try to keep it to about 3/4 ft in length, any longer its a struggle to hold and if the gutters are open-ended (without the end caps) put some duct tape on it so when you're picking it up it won't fall out of one end.. it happened to me on one haha! Oh and when its time to plant, water the whole gutter, take the tape off and it should slide out really easily into a pre made trench :dbgrtmb:

Just the doors need fixing now..but am so grateful that the new cover is on!

Last weekend I planted one long bed full of rocket spuds, made a new raspberry bed, sowed carrots and parsnips in the big box.

Started to dig another patch over just needs to be weeded and I can put my pea frames in and plant up.

The old man has taken on his own plot...finally, yay!

But.. 3 people are leaving and 2 have already left :( I was offered to swap plots with one which I was going to but decided I really do like my plot.. and with that came the offer of the greenhouse from said plot! (I've lost count how many greenhouses I've been promised but this one is very likely to happen..:fingers crossed:) and with one of the other plots going free, which is just behind the polytunnel, the old man is going to swap to that to be closer to me and Mal. Aw.

Anyhoo in preparation for the greenhouse I've dug up a path and plan to take the boards up towards the end of Aug..

              How it's looking today..

Have also been a lucky lady and borrowed the hose off the bloke who lives in front and have filled 20 barrels plus ibc tank up (3 times in the last 6 weeks!!!) since this bleeding drought! Very, very, very grateful!

Have been neglecting the plot last 2 months.. bleedin kids. So got stuck in on Sat.. took up boards and planted onions and garlic.
Wayne wonder next to me has left, no more will I hear stories of how he was in MI6 and also related to Princess Anne or how the IRA wanted to recruit him....sad times!

To me, this is 10x better than having a path in the middle.
