It's very pretty, whatever it is - well done Mr Snorky! When I've been given these small potted ones in the past, I've found they will do OK in a pot outside on the patio for a year or so, and then invariably die. Think it's something to do with them having been produced by micropropagation.

Hello @Snorky85 I shall put my head on the proverbial block and say it looks like "Iceberg"by the shape of the flower and petals or it could be one of the Avalanche Roses which are native to Holland, Ecuador and Colombia and are available all the year round, ,it would be better off outside or somewhere cold ,definitely not near any central heating, and if possible transfer in to a larger pot,I would be very interested in its future health so if you have the time my friend,an update would be most appreciated, thank you:smile:

Thanks @wiseowl I wanted to get an iceberg shrub/bushy type (rather than the Iceberg climbers I've already got) so I hope it is that. I've also got a huge terracotta container at my back door which gets the sun - I'd intended to buy a rose for it so may aswell plant out this one and see what happens. Will keep you informed :)

I think @Clare G is on the right track. Valentines roses are forced (who knows where) to be at their utmost florificious beauty in the middle of February; not really what they want to be doing! I too have struggled to keep them going with zero success. Good luck though.

Well I ended up facebook messaging Waitrose (& Partners as they now like to be called). They took a day but got back to me and told me the rose variety is "Infinity". Well I've never heard of it! Have any of you?

Good evening @Snorky85 I have heard of it but only in an apricot colour:smile:

Infinity rose is a new variety, introduced in 2012 by Fryers. It exhibits many of the recent advances in modern roses. Beginning as a perfect furled bud, its large, full blooms can reach 12 cm across when mature and will have between twenty-six and forty petals per rose, all of a subtle apricot orange colour borne singly at the end of long, strong and sturdy stems. They typify what most people think a perfect rose flower should look like. The other wonderful thing about this Infinity, and a clue is in the name, is that it just keeps on producing flowers over the summer months right into autumn. Marry this with disease resistance and a slightly leathery foliage that keeps on looking good too, you have a marvellous new addition to your rose garden.

Height: 1.2-1.5 m Width: 60-75 cm Colour: apricot Shape of flower: Just the most perfect, huge hybrid tea Scent: moderately fragrant Flowering: pretty much continuous from June to September Group: hybrid tea Foliage: mid-green
Bred by Gareth Fryer it has been trialled and commended internationally, and when on trial in The Hague, this apricot rose won a gold medal. It has to be one of the largest hybrid tea blooms and we do not know of one which lasts longer when cut.
