    Hi @miraflores It depends on how strong the prevailing winds are and how frequently they blow. If it just happens to be because of the current strong winds then you don't really need to do anything but if you're in a very windy position then for a few years it would help if you staked a netting fence around it.

    Unless you have moved I wouldn't bother doing anything. If it's a young tree it may be better to just support it with a stake for the first two years to make sure it grows upright. Then take the stake away as it is unlikely to develop strong roots if you support it for too long. Although we have had the recent strong winds the weather is damp enough to prevent it from dehydrating. Strong winds in a dry summer might affect it.

    Cupressus macrocarpa 'Goldcrest' is often used for hedging in the south of England so should stand up to the sort of weather we have round here. :dbgrtmb:
