I'm fairly certain that even the likes of a Parish Council are bound by similar rules, once a decision is made it cannot be immediatey reversed, nothing to do with Bercow's personal opinions, but what's the law.

Apparently he's been searching through a load of old stuff from the 17th century.
And has now arrived at this decision.

Oh well, I suppose he ain't got much else to do.

Parliament is in a mess, an unimpartial arrogant Speaker, (classic small man syndrome) a divided Tory party resentful of its leader and a Labour Party controlled by violent extremists.

Another referendum will not solve the issue whatever the outcome.

Meanwhile we will all suffer the consequences of being in limbo land :noidea:

If we are laughing at our own parliament, just think what the rest of the world is thinking?

They really do need to sort themselves out and do something positive, even one way or the other.
I really do think they must be the laughing stock of the world, and it could take them a long time to live this down.
I'm now thinking even a general election will not solve the problem as the PROBLEM is parliament.

A general election won't change anything as you say Pete. The only people that can change things are those 'won't budge, won't give us an inch' bods sitting on their high horses over the water. I don't think anything our politicians come up with now will make a difference. It's total stalemate unless the EU help us out and I can't see that happening!

But if a GE gave one party a good majority, then we wouldn't be held to ransom by

Yes we would because neither of the two main parties can agree amongst theirselves.

But they wouldn't need to if one of them had a large majority. Which is what May had until she threw it away.

Well kind of agree Sheal, but its been our stupid approach to the so called negotiations that have allowed the EU to take that stance.
The dilly dallying, the fact that they knew half, probably more MPs, were not behind leaving and will be doing their best to stop it.

The elite have shot us in the foot.
I hope they are nearly happy now.

No party has enough MPs that want to go either way, which is why we are at where we are now.
A majority in parliament would not solve the problem.

I think it could because the Government could stick two fingers up to the DUP and ignore whatever nonsense they come up with. They can also pretty much ignore what the opposition want if they have a big enough majority and get down to some proper talking and sort out a proper exit. As Leavers want. A large majority would give whoever was in power the leeway to come up with something that pleases their party. And then it's done.

The way it is at the moment isn't what anyone wants, Leavers or Remainers.
