They use the same nest boxes as Bluebirds so there is a conflict over housing. Hopefully, I will see who the winner is sometime in the near future. This little lady was watching the nest box with an anxious look. Someone had destroyed some of the boxes, vandals are even in the boonies I guess. Oh, I almost forgot, Eastern Bluebird.

@Sheal Hybrid Mallard maybe crossed with Khaki Campbell.

@hydrogardener You could get some action then, I did see some Mountain Bluebirds last summer in Colorado but they were all juveniles so very little blue on them.

Thanks @strongylodon. :) There's irony in your suggestion of Khaki Campbell. I took the shot in Glencoe last week.

@Sheal They were named after a Mrs Campbell who initiated the breeding of them. as they laid more prolifically than farm ducks.

We had two young Pied Wagtails in the garden recently but no pics. This is the first young Siskin although we have two pairs of adults around.

@Jenny namaste It was a bit risky resting on the lawn after it had breakfast so I encouraged it to move up into the trees out of the way of marauding cats.

Two very distant Whimbrel just arrived from Africa, similar to Curlew but with a shorted more sharply curved bill.
