Had to laugh at all those liberal democrats. They actually think they are on the way back.:loll:

Rather than spoiling their votes many just voted liberal because they couldnt bring themsevles to vote for the useless tories or labour.

Interesting way of looking at it. If you really believed in Brexit and wanted to make a protest against the two main parties you would either spoil your paper or vote UKIP. But instead the only party who are committed to reversing the Brexit result got the votes! Usually the Lib Dems gain a few in mid term elections but never on this scale.
Not only that but UKIP, the party that only really existed for what became Brexit, were hit hard and lost a lot of seats too.

I think that was because they have lost any credibility they may have had with (from memory) having six leaders in under three years.

In some areas spoilt ballots were more than the UKIP votes!

I wonder how many people voted tactically, purely against the Tories (as I did!), or spoiled their ballot paper, who will then go on to vote for the Brexit Party in a few weeks time?

Exactly what I thought, except I compared it to a sympathy bonk ;)

I heard there was one paper where the voter wrote ‘brexit’ and an arrow and they counted it a Tory vote!! Crooked much?

Lets face it, under normal circumstances voting Liberal and spoiling your ballot paper are pretty much the same thing.
It's just that in these strange times, so many did that, that it actually backfired on them.

Good job it was pretty much a pointless election anyway, I dont think I've ever bothered voting in local elections, we just get more of the same whoever wins.

                UKIP died some time ago.

I think that a lot of the LibDem votes were simply some of their old fans that dropped them like a shot after the coalition.

That’s the one! I’d love for the voter to speak up and tell them they got his intention completely wrong! I thought the rules were simple, if it’s anything other than a mark in the box the paper was invalid

I’m also disgusted at the news today that just because they got a trouncing the government are so much more likely to capitulate on a labour-thinking deal. Weak.

The Lib Dem’s were in government. The mess they contributed to lead to their demise yet now they talk as though they are offering something new.:noidea:
Used to enjoy politics but now I see politicians as an unscrupulous lot .....none of them are remotely interested in the ordinary Joe Bloggs it seems.
All politicians on the opposition benches talk big knowing they will never really be tested
It’s not brexit that’s destroying our country but rather the lack of quality and integrity of our leaders and decision makers:noidea:

The parties have all entered (a while ago) a period of drift. Nothing significant has happened, it's all mouth and no trousers and they all sound the same. I'm sure the country is running but I'm not so sure it's being lead!
As for Brexit negotiations, pft. The farce continues.
