Front garden progress

I have a few questions about my front garden ahead of planting out the dahlias, cornflowers, cosmos and nigella I have been growing since Feb.

Pic 1) This is cat mint or a salvia! It’s been pinched out a few times but is now time to let it go to flower?

Pic 2) This appears to be a dead euphorbia! It’s in complete shade. Do I dig it up or can it still spark into life?

Pic 3) These are alliums but they look immature, will they flower this year? I planted the bulbs in Feb. Too late huh?They are in a premium spot so I might dig up and move!

Pic 4) this is an echinop. Didn’t flower last year but its in a poor spot. Can I move it now or is it too risky?

Yes let catmint do it’s thing now.
Dead euphorbia ..yes, looks dead to me too. Replace with something else
Those aliums? Maybe but prob won’t flower this year. Feed them to help them build up for next year
Echinop? You can move them although they are not long term plants. You can take cuttings or divide them now

 

Some of the plug plants have become quite bushy and look good (verbena in clay pot). Should I just pot the smaller ones on and wait another month or so to plant in the ground? All my plants have been outdoors for a couple of week. I’ve just been a bit too busy to work out what to do with them all!!

The one in the green pot is aster frikartii Monch. As that’s a few years old now, and I’ve already pinched it back a few times, do I now leave that alone as we are getting into summer? Or should I pinch back one final time?

 

Let Frikartii Monch be now Kriss....it will make a much better feature in the ground though Ditto the verbena although I would pinch the tips one more time.
I always pot on small plants before planting out.....they grow much faster and better able to thrive when they are eventually planted out.
All looking good there though

 

Love your house, the front door, the wall and gate. It is crying out for a rose or two, a nice big blousy rose! They would fit in with the other plants you are growing too.

You could also maybe consider doubling the width of the border in front of the wall thus allowing you to plant more.
