    @CarolineL
    I've double checked and it is labelled as splendens. At the moment I do not have G cunonius, but it's one I would like.
    They are very similar though. i also checked on the Plant List and they are not synonyms.

      Hi @NigelJ - oh dear, I thought I sent you some seed from my g. cunonius. I assume it died?

        @CarolineL You did (2017), thank you, and they germinated. Little blades of grass and then died down leaving little bulbs. Sadly they never returned, I lost a couple of small bulbs in smallish black pots last year. I think they got too hot in the excellent 2018 summer. Some of the small autumn cyclamen really struggled and they were in terracotta pans. A lesson learnt about what needs to be kept shady for the next good summer we have.

          You're not alone. From my thriving pot of g. cunonius I now have 2 pathetic little bulbs. And mine were in a polytunnel with automatic watering, so should have been ok. But summer 2018 WAS exceptional.

              Nice piccies Nigel.

              I'm toying with the idea of starting a collection. I 'm always amazed at the striking Blue shades.

                        I didn't know that Sisyrinchium was part of this family. I have one that looks very similar to yours @NigelJ but I don't know it's variety. A close up of the flowers.....

                          @Sheal Yours does look very similar to mine, however I've just discovered there are several similar varieties Search Results - The Beth Chatto Gardens . I find it self seeds a bit but not enough to be a problem unlike Sisyrinchium striatum which I started with in Essex.

                                This is the first time I've ever grown these and I can't believe how easy they are. They were put into large pots in February in the greenhouse and are now flowering their socks off.. Each bulb has at least two stems and each stem has between four and six branches which you can cut seperately therefore not spoiling the display.
                                They are probably ( in my opinion ) the best cut and come again bulb available, up there with Dahlias.

                                PS...
                                The scent in the greenhouse is wonderful without being overpowering.
