Of course, probably Nanny will have to attend the baby's nightime outbursts. However no doubting the wee lad will be called more than Archie in time.

It's good to see how William & Harry have certainly had a massive spring clean and got rid of a lot of the old traditions.

      I love the name :wub2:
My son was to be called Archie, unfortunately I listened to nay sayers. :mute:

        Hmm.

Bet you, like I, can remember when Bruce Forsyth's face was on a bottle of Daddies Sauce.

Archie was a bit of a surprise but I don't see anything wrong with it. It has been a popular name for a couple of decades.

Harrison seems to be a good choice as it's fairly well known as a name both here and in the U.S. and is also used, particularly in Scotland, to simple mean 'Son of Harry'.

Except @shiney that Harry’s real name is Henry so he is son of Henry:whistle::heehee:

I was a bit surprised with the name especially as it is Prince George’s nickname:biggrin: Evidently according to social media that are always right on such things the name is supposed to be part of Meghans real name (Rachel) and Harry’s not real name but what these two do nothing surprises me.I don’t know why they don’t just give up the royal part of life and become commoners like us plebs:biggrin:

By the way I have a great nephew called Archie and or we had had kids especially a boy then Archie would have been suitable to go with our surname:biggrin: Archie’s brother is called Harvey so whenever I hear that name I think of the furniture shop of the same name:biggrin: If I had been lucky enough to have had a daughter I always liked the name Vicky but in the seventies would have had to put Victoria on the birth certificate as you wasn’t allowed to shorten it so would have chosen Julie instead:biggrin:

At least they haven’t gone yet for those silly celebrity names like some of the poor kids are given these days,oh and I also know a child called Winter which is strange hearing her parents calling her that in the summer when they want her to come to them:biggrin: and I also know a man called Roman..:)

Sounds good to me, they are moving with the times, and throwing out some very stale old traditions. Good for them, it's a very popular name at the moment.:blue thumb:

Modernisation of the Monarchy, no-one else is positioned to do it effectively! I think it will grow on me the more I see it (constantly) in the headlines

Of course, back when @shiney and I were flying our Sopwith Camels over the First World War german trenches, Archie was the term we used for hostile anti-aircraft fire!

That was back in the 'good' old days of the RFC and "Archibald, certainly not!". They later went on to just use the term 'ack-ack' instead. :blue thumb:
