    Hi everyone, my first post!

I am a very amateur gardener especially when it comes to flowers (not bad with grass).

Last year I purchased and planted 2 dahlia tubers in 2 separate pots which grew successfully. At the end of the season, I stored the tubers wrapped in newspaper and stored indoors.

Last week I brought them out from hibernation for replanting. I noticed that both had a string of green growth 4-5 inches long coming from the eye. So far, I have planted these as before with the eye just by the surface with this "winter growth" just resting on top.

The question is, should I cut it off to the eye or just leave it?
    Are my tubers ruined?

    Thanks

Thanks Verdun, that's good to hear.

So, should I cut off the early growth or just leave on top of the soil?

The new growth Will be very soft, so don't be surprised if it kind of disappears.
      One way or another. :)

Yes it is very soft, that's why I was contemplating cutting it off.

      Thanks for all your comments
