    Aloha everyone,

We're working hard towards Open Day. Trying to arrange setting up times for all the entertainers' equipment is becoming a logistical nightmare. So I've had to put my foot down :old:

The sensible one is coming in the day before to set up, sound test and practice. That's the day when the gazebos, tables, chairs etc. arrive and get set up and the plant stall, and other stalls, get laid out. Moving a couple of thousand plants to the sales tables/area takes time and organisation. :phew:

The others want to set up on the morning of the event but no one wants to come too early. The first four sets are now sorted out as they shall be sharing equipment so it just means one Sarah coming in at 9.30 and setting here sound gear up for all of them. She can do that in 30 minutes as she has being singing here for some years. I told the Ukulele band they can either set up the day before (don't want to do that :noidea:) or set up between 10 and 10.30 (when the first performance starts). They say it takes an hour to set up and I said they can't have an hour. They have decided to use their lighter equipment instead and shall set up in the afternoon just before their set. If they run late they will only be cutting into their own set. Solved :dbgrtmb:

Today is sowing and planting and, hopefully, starting on the (non-gardening) tidying up. That tidying will take a couple of days. Then it's usual garden maintenance (all offers of help welcome) until next weekend.

I have to also do the shopping for serving teas, cakes, cream teas, Pimms etc. to 300 - 400 people. All kitchen help now finally organised. I'm going to post this in the Open Day thread as well (I might as well as it has taken some time to type :heehee:).

Our gas is back on after the replacement of the gas main and, hopefully, they will fill in most of the metre square holes they've dug opposite each house. Then they can move the traffic lights and roadworks further along. Traffic lights are currently two doors away and they will start there and disrupt the next 300m stretch. Hopefully they will close up that stretch before Open Day otherwise there will be chaos for both us and them.

    Typical parking problems each year

Keep well and have a great day

Good morning everyone, Sorry Shiney, not fit or well enough to make it this year unfortunately. But I do wish you all well with the event. Drop of rain promised for today, the gardens will appreciate it so keep warm and dry and above all stay safe and well. God bless. :wub2:

Good morning all, last day of sunshine then rain all weekend, so no gardening for me sadly, ho well I suppose it saves me watering the garden.

        Have a lovely day all.

          Morning everyone :)

A tad cloudy today, we too had a promise of rain over the next few days but the forecast seems to have changed. We 'might' get a drop around 6pm but so far none for the weekend. :fingers crossed: it changes yet again, so desperately need the rain.

I too started staking yesterday morning and plan to continue today.

          Have a great day !

Good morning all, bright sunshine here, will it last, I ask myself. Have a good day all, no overdoing things those with bad backs. Got my new knee brace but unfortunately it fits below the knee but not above so some adjustment is needed to it. That is where the swelling is mainly.
Have a good day all, stay warm and dry and above all safe and well. God bless. :wub2:

                    Morning everyone!:)

Aw! that's a shame @moyra, hope something can be worked out to make it beneficial to you. Perhaps you could put some padding around the swollen part first?

Yes @Verdun we had a spot or two of rain overnight, as I knew it was predicted I too did some planting out so that they got a good watering in:blue thumb: More rain is expected tonight as well so I might do some plantings at my Dad's today ...the FA cup will keep him out of mischief while I'm doing it!:heehee:

Enjoy your day in the garden @Flumpy , hope the rain holds off for you:dbgrtmb:

                          Aloha everyone,

@Flumpy we could do with a gardener and I'm sure you would like staying in the summerhouse. :heehee:

We're getting on fairly well but it would help if the weeds stopped growing.

Keep well and enjoy your day
