Good afternoon @PEANUTPARADISE it looks like my Sambucus nigra 'Black Beauty but I only know about Roses so we had better wait until one of our more learned friends comes along;)

Thanks but it’s definitely not Sambucus Nigra. This is not one plant, it’s coming up much in the same way as Houttuynia does.

Could it be Ajuga? Is that a blue flower coming from it? Mine has just started flowering and it looks similar.

Not sure, but I think it could be Lysimachia ciliata 'Firecracker'.

Have a look at that and see what you think. You should be able to tell for certain if and when it produces flowers.

At first I thought it was Lysimachia but the leaves are not pointed enough and the leaf pattern doesn't seem quite right.

Not Ajuga or Lysimachia, I know both of these. As for tree suckers, there aren’t any trees near it now or have been.
