I am fairly certain that Mrs C will be bringing her camera - now, I am not saying that she takes a lot of photos, but I have put two hard drives on standby.....

Some blackbirds have chosen the wrong places to nest! There's one in the Euonymous right next to where the entertainers' loudspeakers will be and one in the tree next to where everyone comes through the car port into the garden. :dunno:

As blackbirds are usually quite OK with humans around I hope they survive it.

            You'll find out tomorrow. ;)

Yesterday I worked from 4.30 a.m. until dark and another full day today.

We got most of the gazebos up and set out the five tables for the plant sale.
            P1420287.JPG

Siting the tables is a bit of a logistics problem. We have to put down lawn protectors (the black things), put the tables on them and then the gazebo - but we need site the gazebo first as it can't be lifted over the tables. The tables need to be set out to know how they will fit in the space before we can put the protectors down. So the tables are manoeuvred under the gazebo, spaced correctly to allow enough room for workers behind them and punters in front. Then the tables need to be lifted in order to put the edges of the protectors under them. Then the gazebo moved to fit the space and pinned down. Then the protectors need to be pinned down. This is all the worst things for me as it requires bending. Give me lots of lawns to mow, any day!

One larger gazebo to go up today, past the willow tree, for the therapists to work under.

Ten more 6ft tables (to add to the nine already here) to be delivered this morning together with another 60 chairs.

Mrs Shiney will be doing the table flower arrangements (picture later) in these special vases

For those of you coming along. If the roadworks are still there (very likely to be) you can either park along the road as usual (away from the roadworks and traffic lights) or in the space behind the roadworks cones that are between the 300 metre space between the lights. The workmen won't be there so you can park where their vehicles normal go.

Excellent @shiney . Setting off shortly to pick up the caravan, then on to Hoddesdon. I’m guessing a 4 hour journey, with a break. See you all tomorrow :dbgrtmb:

I'm gutted I can't make it this year, health issues prevent it but I'm sure it will be a great success and fun will be had by all, not to overlook the the money raised for charity...... Have a great time folks, I will be there in spirit if not in person.

Well done Shiney and Mrs Shiney. Looking forward to seeing you all. I have a suprise special guest joining us....Mr Snorky aka Dave. I have no idea why he has changed his mind and is coming with me but I am pleased. Apologies in advance as he is not very into gardening (at all - good job as it is my domain). @shiney Hope you have finally got your feet up to rest now!

See you tomorrow, Elaine & Dave. (PS sorry if I have forgotten what everyones names are (and faces) no offence intended, I just have a bad memory!)

I'm not very good at remembering people. I apologise in advance. My wife and I are looking forward to it very much. She doesn't garden but she enjoyed the day out last year. Armandii made us feel very welcome last year. A very kind and warm hearted. His presence will be missed.

See you tomorrow. Safe journey everyone.
