Sorry for poor DSCF3461.JPG DSCF3461.JPG DSCF3450.JPG DSCF3461.JPG DSCF3450.JPG r quality images - these were taken "on the hoof" as it were, while out walking. I'm compiling a diary of a stretch of woodland in my local area (West Yorks) and came across quite a few flowers which, although profuse and familiar, I couldn't name. Any help appreciated

Sorry also for duplicated images, and the fact the text is all over the place while the last image is thumbnail size. I've tried any times to upload photos etc, but it always jumbles them up and/or attaches pictures twice when I only upload them once.

I would have to walk that way later in the year then @SimonZ and collect a few seeds from the Honesty (Hesperus) I love the flowers but the seed pods more.! ;) :heehee: Great in arrangements green or ripe and dry..

Also when you load up a photo from you machine if you click the full size button when it loads to your post you will get a 2nd photo, just delete the first and it will just show the image full size instead of the thumbnail..

Thanks for all of your replies. The one which is bugging me most is the attached, because I see it everywhere and think I've even had it identified on this site before! DSCF3478.JPG

Goodness...that is where common names can lead to confusion...

Both are in Brassicaceae..so flowers look very similar.
Lunaria annua have the fab seed pods.

Hesperis matronalis is an herbaceous plant species in the mustard family, Brassicaceae. It has numerous common names, including dame's rocket, damask-violet, dame's-violet,[1] dames-wort, dame's gilliflower, night-scented gilliflower, queen's gilliflower, rogue's gilliflower, summer lilac, sweet rocket, mother-of-the-evening, and winter gilliflower.

Lunaria annua, called honesty or annual honesty in English
