That's a good colour - I often get those wishy washy lavender ones.

It's a good year for Papaver somniferum and we have had hundreds of them popping up everywhere. They certainly provide a lovely show of colour but none of ours have bloomed yet.

These are just a few of mine. I bought 3 plug plants last year, label said they are wild Poppies not ornamental. I'm not sure, they are quite tall and wide like Crocus's and the ones I see on the lanes around here are not. Also different shade of red. The leaves are different to the ornamental Poppies and look the same as the ones on the lane. The Bees love them so they are staying :blue thumb:

We've had the same ones appear in our garden. Both very tall and covered in buds! Gorgeous aren't they?!

Ours have just started to open this afternoon. They're coming up everywhere and we leave them if we can.

Sadly, the strong winds have taken some of them down as they're very shallow rooted.

They're even growing in the same holes as our runner beans!

The ones growing locally in cracks at the junction of footpaths and garden boundary walls have all collapsed due to lack of rain.
