After doing our patio project last year, we're now planning a built in BBQ and pizza oven. We'll go for a brick surround where you put the BBQ tray and grill, and ideally include a worktop too, and the pizza oven at the end. Has anyone done anything similar? I'd love to see photos. Thanks

Hi Nessa , for some ideas have you tried Pinterest. They will have photos of BBQ / Ovens and possibly some plans.

no, but been promoting that on another forum. maybe one day I will do that. makes so much sense to build one type structure with two features of cooking.

Thanks Harry, yes there are some great ideas on Pinterest but wondered if anyone here had any experience of building their own.

    Hi Nessa,

I’m new here and will shortly be starting a thread on our new garden. We will be creating a “Garden Kitchen “ that sounds pretty much like the one you’ve described. I envisage a 1m diameter wood oven one end, a tiled countertop, storage and a pair of fridges underneath ( one for food the other for medicinal purposes ). I’m going to add a timber extension to the end for serving and possibly a breakfast bar along the front. Although this might not be the best idea as the smoke will be an issue.

IMG_3583.JPG Hi Steve, your creation sounds great and more ambitious than ours, and looking forward to seeing it take shape. We (my husband!) has built the BBQ and we've used a Black Knight set which seems pretty robust. The shelves are offcuts from a kitchen worktop. The pizza oven will be to the left and is the project for later in the summer. We christened the BBQ last weekend and it was great and could fit on so much food! I think we've missed a trick by not having a 'medicinal' fridge though :)

@NessaJ70 I don’t mean to put a dampener on your project, which looks great, but I don’t think the kitchen worktop offcuts will withstand the English climate. They are designed for inside usage and won’t like the rain. Are they removable?

        Hi NessaJ70,
what a great idea to make an oven! On youtube you will find many videos that will give you an idea how to go about it. An oven will keep heat for hours and hours and you can keep on cooking and baking the whole day.

Here is one of four videos about a small oven construction:
