Hi everyone picked up this bee off the floor about 3 hours ago and popped it on a plant hoping it would pick up, hasn't moved at all and I'm afraid another downpour and it'll be washed away, any use putting it in the greenhouse with the plant? Sorry forgot the photo.

I found a few on some fading blooms of a big rhodo when I was dead-heading yesterday. They were almost lifeless.

    A sugar solution often works.
    Some plants actually kill bees.

It's sad finding a bee in distress. There are various reasons for their dilema, perhaps sadly t's come to the end of it's life, perhaps it's got too wet, picked up some chemical. Who can tell. I usualy put them to a place of safety and hope for the best.

I have rescude several of the big bumble bees, they always appear to welcome your gentle handling. Mainly I find they have got soaked or have caught themselves up in cobwebs.

It wasn't on the plant this morning it was on the greenhouse staging, nipped in the house and made some sugar solution by the time I got back to the greenhouse couldn't find it, just hope it's found a renewed strength.

        How is the bee @mazambo?

On a related note, has anyone else noticed an increase in bees in their garden this year? Our raspberry patch the other day was absolutely loaded with them! Really nice to see.

A surprising thing for me after noticing there was a bees nest in the roof was the activity of the bees on a cherry tree that the grandkids grew from seed from cherry trees on the green outside our house, it flowered about a month ago and is fruiting nicely but the bee activity is still very busy, so seeing the tips of the branches black with greenfly and the bees in there regularly I'm thinking are they taking nectar? So a Google search later tells me that they are taking the honeydew produced from the greenfly...never would have believed that.

Yes, FC lots of bees and wasps - weather permitting. I've also had resident Miner bees since late Spring last year. :)
