I know it is personal preference, but I value the opinion of others so much when it comes to decision making. Recently got a gorgeous new shed (see photo) and it is now ready to be painted. I have my fence painted the 'Autumn Brown' colour from one of the charts and now want to paint my shed one of the colours from the other chart. I am interested to hear what preferences other people have. I was thinking muted clay. I went on their website where you can play around with a picture of a shed. It's amazing how different a colour can seem when you see it on the whole shed. I was thinking of a blue or green at first, but worry a green would take away from the plants I have around it. Any suggestions gratefully received. I'll be starting to paint it when I break up From school in a few weeks time. :-)) if anyone has a colourful shed, I'd love to see a photo of it!

I quite like the idea of painting the shed the same colour as the fence MarkyMark :)
Coastal Mist though looks good too:)

Liked that one too! :-)) I thought about the same colour as the fence but felt it might suddenly make the end of garden seem very 'fence/shed' dominated.

Matter of choice. Do you want the shed to stand out as being something special in the garden, or would you prefer it to be, 'seen and not heard'

Painting fences is one thing I avoid. It is the most boring job in the garden, and it's protection qualities are so so. But for a shed you may want a colour that compliments or contrasts with your fencing. I have found the Cuprinol Ducks Back range of shed paint to be excellent. It is wax enriched which gives enhanced protection and a lovely satin finish. Plus it actually does last the 5 years stated on the tin ! I do like the slate grey colour (silver copse ) but the choice is up to you.
As you are from Liverpool why not red and white stripes ?

A vote for Cuprinol Garden Shades here. Shed has been up for 4 years, and the colour and water protection are just as good as when I first painted it. I think the colour was 50:50 Coastal Mist and Tranquil Waters. I wanted a colour which worked next to the white garage wall and was easy on the eyes.

I'm presently using Dulux Trade mahogany Ultimate Woodstain. It ain't cheap. They say it's now guaranteed for 10 years, but I give it another coat every three.

It's the successor to some different names, "Woodsheen" for one, for very much the same product, I've been using it on my tea-house since 1987. This building I built from mostly untreated soft wood and roofing ply. Though I did dip the ends of the main supporting posts in Cuprinol overnight during construction. I also give the underside a "periodic" spray of Cuprinol with a pressure sprayer with a long nozzle. This Woodstain is excellent for smooth finished surfaces as it forms an impervious polymer seal.

Though I did paint this featherboard fence and door I made, with it fifteen years ago. But it doesn't go as far on rough finished wood. It's had a second coat.

These two pergolas get the same treatment, these replaced less substantial ones twelve years ago.

Wow...what lovely pics! I really liked the coastal mist colour but I am also not very adventurous when it comes to daring colours...so tend to veer towards browns and beiges lol. The ducks back Cuprinol I have used on the fence and it looks amazing. And it is really waterproof...like water off a duck's back! Ha ha
It does say on the ducks back paint that it is for rough sawn wood? Is my shed that? I don't think it is....but I might be wrong.

Look at the colour beside Deep Russet (not a million miles away from your fence colour) called Olive Garden. They go together lovely.

I noticed this morning, Wilko were promoting Cuprinol Duck's Back at £8 for 5ltrs.

As a believer in "you get what you pay for." No disrepect to anyone, but at £8 for 5ltrs, is it much more than "coloured water?"

Ohh, I like that colour @Markymark! Sort of a hazy, misty sage green. So will look good in the winter, and fade out into the background in the summer. Looking forward to seeing the finished shed :blue thumb:.
