Did he mention which Christmas that is likely to be?

I cant see any point in any of this bearing in mind Parliament get the final say.

Why don't they all go off on holiday and sail into the sunset, none of them are worth a light, and by that i mean all those MPs that have their own agendas as well.

Having a friend/neighbour currently undertaking chemotheropy, I find it offensive you attack somebody for wearing a toupee.

You can't even spell the reason for your attack correctley (apart from the other reason, that Trump is a complete and utter prick).

That's exactly what they're going to do Pete, wonder if they'll spare a thought for their country which reckons to be in crisis whilst they're on their hollibobs.

@pete , it's not Parliament who get the final say it's the EU . It's down to them to either say that's enough you're out on the 31st of October. Or grant another extension.

All of this to me is like opening a can of worms and blindly attempting to decide which head end, belongs to what tail end. Do you understand that? NO! neither do I. Likewise with all this BREXIT thingy. When I first saw the word BREXIT, I thought of it as being just another way out.

Correct. Yes that's it, BREXIT = Way out=exiting the EU.

Question. Why does Britain want OUT?
Answer. Perhaps most inhabitants of the UK feel that they no longer are, British Citizens. This is easily recognized by several channels. For instance day to day living. Although the UK nver adopted the Euro, nevertheless our currancy did undergo a change. Whereas we had grown up with pounds, shillings & pence. The wording changed and also the values. Our hard earned money became decimalized. Also our miles, yards feet and inches, became Kilometers, metres etc. Not boasting but. In my schooldays, maths was my best subject. No '' A or A star. We were marked percentagewise. My final report was. 98% Maths. 92% English. Honestly, although perhaps the metric system is simpler, I prefer yds, ft, and inches.

This is just a smittering of the changes we the Brits had to make. The europeans, what changes did they have to make. NONE.

Basically our rights to self rule and govern became subject to EU agreements etc. Our long world wide legal system was taken over by the european courts.

In an attempt to keep the peace. IMO. The member states of the EU, are afraid to lose us. We contribute perhaps the most, just about everything about the UK is so far superior to what the rest have to offer.

The British public voted LEAVE. So why are we still in this nomans land. Britain. Stand up and Gain back that title. GREAT BRITAIN. If need be. A reverse victory sign and. Take it or lkeave it. Britain is OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!

Perhaps if people realised that "British Citizen" is a meaningless term it might help? There has been such a wonderful mix of immigration through the UK that ours and other countries need to get with the idea that we're all just world citizens.
There's finite resources on the planet and rubbing along with the rest is so much better than war or isolationist behaviour

If British citizen ship means so little, and is a "meaningless term", why are there so many people out there wanting it?
Or at least wanting to risk their lives getting here, in the hope of becoming British citizens one day, either by the back door or legally.

I think that some prick wearing a toupee out of sheer vanity and denying it is different to someone wearing one as a result of a medical condition. It was certainly not intended to offend.

I at times wonder whetherornot other members of the EU are getting fed similar talk etc as we are.
My thoughts relate to all this media chat, of what Britain is going to be like once we actually leave the EU. Ideas such as, higher prices, import tax increases, basically a kind of,'Let's paint Britain a no-go area. As Pete mentioned. Why are there so many risking life and limb to get here and make a new life. Also all this about some foreign owned companies planning to exit Britan and relocate to the continent.

If Britain really is expected to become, how can I put it. A finished nation, a failed nation. Then. Why are contintal businesses setting up shop over here.

Local to me, is The Greenwich Penninsular. Once perhaps the largest Gasworks in Britain. It closed down, and it took several years to reclaim the area and detoxify the land. Now the whole area one enormouse market place. Recently a very large Sainsbury's was demolised. When built, it was claimed to be perhaps the most eco-friendly. Much recycled material was used. It had it's own wind terminals and auto roof shading etc. It had everything perhaps a loo. Anyway this store was demolished and a new build sprang up basically across the road. Yippee! this has got loos! what a relief.

The site was soon cleared and now is home to a gigantic Ikea. Local council even rearranged the roads.

More recent. A store, River Island is closing down. Letting agents won't renew the lease. Guess what? The new occupants are to be Lidle. Now within easy walking distance. There is Makro, a cash and carry. Asda, M&S, Sainsbury's, Aldi etc. So if this tiny island is doomed. Why are thousands flocking to come in and set up shop??????????

Stop the world. I want to get off!!!!!!!!

We have the opposite problem. People want to come here and duplicate their old life, just in better economic conditions. Some are pushing for Sharia law and other such things. I have never understood why someone would leave their homeland and then try to make their new hosts follow their old country's rules.

Loos. I was astonished by the lack of them. Or at least free ones. I don't know of many retail places that don't have one available for customers and all take away and restaurants have strict rules about having them and keeping them clean. The place with the most and cleanest that I've encountered is New Orleans. They must have a secret rule that if you're in business, you'd better have a pristine loo!

No no. Don't get off the world. We only need a station stop at "Sanity"to get of this "crazy train" :)

Yeah, that is pretty much what happens here also, they form their own communities, ohh how the government and do gooders wittle on about integration, but some dont even intend learning English, or atleast wont let their wives.

I could also say in some ways Brits do the same, sod off to someone else's country and form their own community, like little England, in Spain etc.

I'm not well up on Toilets I'm afraid, but they can be hard to find at times over here.

As a newcomer I've noticed we've digressed, rumour says GC is famous for that:heehee:, from the actual subject of leaving Bexit and gone on to MP's, what is a British Citizen, etc.. Can I put my oar in and ask what are the chances of leaving the EU in October this year considering the events over the last two and half years, and the failure of our elected, well paid MP's inability to carry out the outcome of the referendum. To me, the chances of getting a deal to which everyone will agree to is around about Zero because.....

                          (a) May took the posioned chalice of trying to get a fair deal with the EU. It was an impossible task and I can't think of anyone or a deal that could have succeeded........would anyone here? (b) The BREXIT negotiations such as they were were seeminlgly one sided with everyone from the man on the street to the Prime Minister, all political parties, the Newspapers, etc, saying the EU had the upper hand and was in charge. The result being that the EU was allowed to shake it's collective head and saying NO throughout the whole negotiations so that they could show the rest of the EU how any other member would be treated should they be thinking of leaving. (c) Now we're at the stage where May has resigned, Hunt and Boris are vying for being the next Prime Minister and claiming that they each have the solution to the UK leaving the EU by October this year. Both have now, today, stated that they will not acceot the clause of the Back Stop and will renegotiate a new deal with the EU without the Back Stop being included.. The EU has consistently said they will not renegotiate any new deal but the person being voted in as the new leader of the EU is now saying she would approve another extention of Article 50, which seems to make no sense if the EU will not entertain another deal:dunno: , or does the EU think it's gives the UK more time to ignore the democratic result they don't like of the Referendum and think the UK political parties willl blink and withdraw Article 50 rather than a No Deal BREXIT.?? Let's not muddy the waters with reiterating old arguments and retreading everything already stated. What's the thoughts on any new Prime Minister who has said they will take a No Deal BREXIT if they cannot get the Back Stop clause withdrawn and a new deal negotiated having the courage to take the UK outin October come what may??
