@wiseowl thanks for the kind words. Of course, as you can see in the photo, I do have some special help in the garden from three more owls…:) (The third one is in hiding, as he is a bit shy!) :)

          Wow!! Just :wow:!!

Somehow I had missed this thread, so just gone through it from beginning to end. I don’t know what to be more stunned by - the planting in the borders, or the immaculate lawns!:love30:
My garden is a messy wilderness in comparison...:thud:

@Sian in Belgium It would be improper not to say thank you for the kind comments, especially in regards to the lawn. Even if its not as good as I would prefer, as you will guess, its all done without nasty chemicals!:)

A short update omn this. Those that have read through this topic will have noticed that I call one of the buildings in the garden my Tea Shed. What does such a building need? Why, a piece of metal artwork like this...

I've read through the whole thread again Sandy. The work you have put in has really paid off and it's lovely to see how it's all matured. :dbgrtmb:

The weather vane is a stunning piece of work that you've produced and very unusual. Also very appropriate for the Tea Shed. Would it be the 'icing on the cake' for the Mad Hatters tea party? :)

Looks really nice :dbgrtmb:. Does having more weather vanes change the weather you receive? :heehee:

                          Another update.

This year its been mostly a matter of a few tweaks in the garden, and waiting to see if some of my ideas worked. Four Spirea "Lady in Red" were added. These really make the border they were put into "pop." Only my opinion, but they do seem to fit in well with the Hydrangeas and Silver Pear...

                          IMG_2081.JPG

One idea I had last year was to see if I could get my hornbeam hedges to meet and form windows. I'm pleased to say that one of these has just about been created. so I'm looking forward to seeing how things turn out in coming seasons.

                          IMG_2086.JPG

This year should see the first crop of Sea Buckthorn...

                          IMG_2088.JPG

...as well as what is looking to be the largest crop of quince so far. The local climate makes these difficult to grow, but these seem to be developing nicely...
