Only Problem was that there was no way we could leave the tiny seedlings for all that length of time so after pricking some of them out into a deep container and leaving the rest in the seed tray I informed him we would have to take them away with us.:snorky: During the day the seedlings were stood outside the caravan under our sun canopy and then as the sun went down we would bring them indoors and stood them on plastic bags in the ensuite shower cubicle on the shower base:biggrin:

Then the weekend before last Mr Kandy’s sister texted us to say that only two of our runner bean seeds had come up at the allotment due to the heavy rain they had while we were away:sad: The first ones we sowed had already rotted in the ground so before we went away I resowed them putting two seeds into each hole but these also rotted apart from the two mentioned above. The next day we had to drive to the little garden centre/nursery at Tremadog and bought a packet of Runner bean seeds a small bag of compost and a seed tray in which we sowed the bean seeds once we got back to base camp:snorky: We kept the tray on a plastic bag on the shelf inside the van in front of the window and by the time we headed for home Yesterday (Sunday) the first ones were just poking through the compost:yay: Once home I added some more compost to cover the seeds as the little root was exposed and looked like it was going brown:hate-shocked: Anyway I have got them all standing outside and tomorrow when it is cooler will start to prick out the celariac seedlings into small pots.Talk about dedication:snorky:

PS,I just hope that Mr Kandy doesn’t book another holiday before these have got put in the ground:biggrin:

When...You're out and about supposed to be enjoying yourself and keep looking at the sky and at the back of your mind you're thinking 'I hope it's not going to rain I've got Tulip bulbs drying out'.:rolleyespink:

You got home from a week's holiday last night after a long day of travelling. It was already dark when you got in so straight to bed for a welcome night's sleep.

Yet you're still up at dawn next morning, before it's even properly light, because you just can't wait to have a look round the garden to see how everything has fared in your absence.

Yes, I was up just after 4-30 this morning, walking round the garden in the half light with a cuppa, peering at all my precious plants. Don't think Mrs Trunky was best pleased either, I will be hearing about this later.

I've got home after midnight from a holiday stuck a headtorch on and gone to check the greenhouse, for slugs, caterpillars and watering state. Then gone to bed with a mental To Do list.
