Hmm! Not sure Perki :) I think some look fine as you say ....just a doubt that’s all
Why not send those pictures to Harts?
I would be interested in their opinion:)

Re growth rate, all my cannas are tall and bushy but Durban, Trop Black etc are, as you said, taller

Maybe it wasn't virused when you bought it, but has picked it up since, any aphids around or on the plants?

its disappointing I thrown a pretoria away before fearing it had the virus and a big wyomig which were brilliant that probably didn't have the virus think back but I chucked it any way  oh well you live and learn

Always aphids around....a fact of life out there :)
However, it needs a canna with the virus locally to spread the virus to healthy cannas. So any cannas we are doubtful about should be destroyed :) A garden with only virus free cannas should remain healthy I think.
I’m sure I got rid of healthy cannas too a few years back because you can look and look and convince yourself a canna is affected.
I will not buy cannas from market stalls, garden centres etc. I have some large, even very large, clumps of Pretoria and all look fine
Similarly with hostas...Hosta X. A Gold Standard, a susceptible variety, here is fine but I had doubts 2 years back and kept it isolated
We just need to be vigilant and sensible about the plants we grow :)

I received a reply today which was good of them :dbgrtmb: I sent two pics of pretoria and 4 of the durban.

Thank you for the photos. I have good news for you. I see no convincing signs of virus in any of your photographs, and most show cannas glowing with health. Symptoms of virus are very specific. To see what canna virus looks like, please see our website www.canna-virus.org.uk.

          Best regards

          Keith
