How come your child is in the guides aged 7? My granddaughter just started and she is 10.

I know @Sian in Belgium got her hands 'slapped' for mentioning something about the OP's questions ... but I agree with her. Gardening Guru's :heehee: only question about gardening was about what this child (who seems to be a handful) could plant! What coat should she wear? What should she tell the child abut the noise from her 2015 car which breaks down a lot? :doh:An OH is mentioned regarding the coat ... where is he/she in this equation?

      Just saying ....

I have 9 grandchildren and not one ever asked me that question and contrary to what most think, it doesn't always snow here, we do get rain too :)

@Gardening Guru I too am a keen gardener and been at it for about 20 years and am still very much an amateur so I imagine you're drawn to child rearing questions because you're already a guru about gardening, unlike me, and know it all already? I guess I'm a slow learner

This is a very friendly forum but we perhaps aren't as patient about parenting questions as you would like. Maybe if you were to join a parenting forum, you might find lots who are anxious to share opinions and their experiences?

that's way members start to questions things @Gardening Guru

The bigger question here---is to learn to respect authority. At 7 you can still instill this. Wait till she 's a teenager, and that is not cemented. Retaliation comes in all forms and aimed to many. However, on the other side, developing good decision skills comes with good questions for her to ponder.

I think that this forum as with other internet forums usually have a mainpoint of interest, plus openings for general chit chat. It must be a well known fact of life, that we often tend to open up to complete strangers. I have two daughters, both in their fifties. The youngest, Amanda is in poor health, has gone through two failed marriages, has two children, the youngest, Chloee is at uni doing a degree with Hons. I am proud of them and frequently talk about them.
This thread after all said and done is in. 'Off-Topic Discussion.
