My peas are very unhealthy despite getting a good 1st crop, so whats happened? I have to admit to neglecting the garden the last few weeks as I have been refurbishing the bathroom (nearly finished)

Do you reckon soil, bugs or what?

    It’s powdery mildew Scudo :)
Are they growing in shady spot?
Personally I would pull them out now and burn or bin them.

Fresh soil, clean containers and maybe a sunnier spot next time?

They get early morning sun then about midday shade for a couple of hours then sun and shade from about 6pm.

Slugs/snails have had a nibble or two too Scudo. In my experience, weak growing plants are always attacked by them.

Yes, I think it is too shady overall there

If you cannot grow them in the ground I would plant them in bigger containers next year and use John innes with added dried manure/chicken pellets. Those pots look too small to me. I would rather grow 5 or 6 peas in a large, deep container than in small individual pots where moisture and nutrient content can fluctuate more easily. Even make a sort of wigwam support! :)

If you can, visit an allotment. I learned an awful lot, picked up a few tips talking to local allotmenteers. They are a sensible, pragmatic lot

OK points noted. Mostly my fault though as I knew I would be ripping out the bathroom and knowing that would take me a couple of months I rushed a few things in the garden just to get them going then got caught with the refurb so pretty much ignored other things.
I should have known better but should be better next year.
