The fruits are very small, Verdun - would fit into a thimble. I've never tried eating them, would imagine they're mostly seeds! I saw one in a friend's garden years ago and so admired it that I had to track one down. Think they're a bit easier to find these days, because they lend themselves to bonsai.

My hymenocallis is also late this year longk but it has been flowering for a while now and producing more flower spikes than last year.

Just a thought, but I've been growing pomegranate outside for over 30yrs, its as hardy as old boots and even if it gets cut back to the ground by frost it regenerates the following year, only ever happened once with me in all that time.

Show off! That is about when they should bloom here usually. Alstroemeria isabelliana is only just about to bloom - that is usually in bloom by late May/early June!

Not hardy I'm afraid, in fact it used to be in the conservatory, but moved it to the greenhouse where it barely survives the winter.
Very easy to grow otherwise and needs a lot of room.

And I just thought it might be of interest, the morning after the night before, selenicereus with a hangover, by first light the flowers have faded.
