Not having the luxury of of the Southern climate:whistle: and being extremely envious of that, every little tip I can learn I'll try and incorporate, only my second year with cannas and had a look today my Tropicana does have a bud and the Wyoming too, just chuffed I'm getting something right...ish:heehee:

They are worth the extra effort Mazambo. :)
For a nice contrast to Wyoming and Tropicana Black you may like Pretoria ....green and white foliage and easy and reliable :)

Yes looks like a nice bridge between the two, I'll take a look at hart canna and see if they have one.

I use tomato feed for all my greedy flowering plants, cannas, brugmansias, sweet peas, ginger lilies and also on runner beans.

Ginger Lilies grow so vigorously here that any sort of feeding would just satisfy their need to rule the world.
I no longer grow them because they simply grew and grew and......
They now grow in a very large garden where they have their own border....the last time I saw them they had filled that border :)
