Following the sad demise of the RNRS. Royal National Rose Society. I became a member of. The Rose Society UK. It's an online society, but since it's begining in 2017, it is growing fast.
I have just rec'd the latest e/newsletter. An informative editorial deals with Rose Black Spot. Prior to 1968 this problem was unheard of. Those who remember the country in those days, may recall. Smoking chimneys, pea souper fogs and a yellowishness to the atsmosphere. The then coal and wood fires, belched out loads of toxic fumes etc. Sulphur perhaps being a collective part.

Now many gardeners are aware of the benefits of sulphur, potash of sulphur. On a wider scale. Sulphur is much used in the field of medicine.

Now the firm of. Greenacres have developed a spray. Members may like to follow this up.

The thought of using a "natural" product does seem a better idea eather than the usual big conglomerate chemical sprays. Have been using garlic myself with limited success.

I wonder why all the diseases started up? Box blight, ash die back, sudden oak etc etc etc......

I bought sulphur spay years ago, to keep certain diseases at bay.

I thought it had been banned as a fungicide, but obviously not.
