WHATS YOUR WEATHER LIKE 2019

We had about 3 hours of gentle rain yesterday afternoon, which was much needed. A heavy “autumnal” dew overnight, and now clear skies and sunshine. Temp currently around 13c with a forecast high of 16c, but showers forecast for the afternoon again.

Thanks Logan. No gain without pain and I had plenty of pain getting rid of lots of 30 year old conifers also digging up the stumps but yes it's now been well worth it; less conifers to trim now as a bonus and at the moment I just pop around with the hoe.

Every day starts with at least one problem here; yesterday four new roller blinds were to be delivered so we waited and waited and waited; by 9 o'clock last night we finally gave up.



Postage carrier is marked Hermes but Delivery Service Yodel? I worked in distribution for 24 years in charge of the department and had I offered this kind of service I'd have been sacked and rightly so but unfortunately my dinosaur days of top class service are well and truly over.

Next problem will be to check if the family of badgers have dug another big hole up the mountain for me to fill in AGAIN. Just another day but I'm pleased to be here to tell the story.

Hi,

Having waited all day yesterday for the blinds to arrive and being badly messed around by the couriers this morning I'd no intention of an action replay; I posted a notice by the front and rear door stating please leave any goods in porch and I left the porch door unlocked. Bron and I then visited Boundary Mills in Catcliffe.

Back home still no blinds but they arrived at 1 o'clock this afternoon; I've just knocked off and the blinds are at last installed.

Buying these blinds extra large through eBay then trimming them to fit myself has saved us around £160 over a local store who could have supplied made to measure blinds; patterned one side plain the other; Bron picked them and is delighted with them. Total cost £112 and an afternoons work.



The blinds drop full length; pictures quickly taken as it's becoming dark. Another job ticked off.

 

Fairly sunny but the air is cool, very noticeable after a few weeks of mid to high 20s.
19.8C today, chilly.

 

Cold start with a NW wind, warmed up a bit by midday with some sun but only got to 18c by the afternoon.

 

A grey morning again but the sun appeared early afternoon for a couple of hours. This evening is back to rain and wind. 16C/61F

Another sunny morning, temp 11c, forecast dry today, with a high of 20c.

So far, the 10mm+ of rain we have been forecast this week has failed to materialise. We’ve had no more than 3mm. Possible rain tomorrow, then a dry week next week, according to the forecast. I’m getting used to a low rainfall, believing the “no rain” forecasts, and taking the promised wet weeks with a pinch of salt.
