Ended up purchasing a pair of Halliana honeysuckle - described by some internet sites as evergreen and others as semi evergreen.

4 pounds each - which is an absolute bargain - they are about 4ft tall with multiple stems - was planning to plant up tomorrow - but it's going to be tippling down all day.

Picked up a Hibiscus standard from Morrisons yesterday - down from 15 GBP to 3.95 GBP - the reason for the reduction - they look poorly because Morrisons can't be bothered watering them.

Any how - I've put my name down for another allotment (same place). The plan is that the current plot is more 'leisure' orientated - so flower beds; greenhouse; seating area etc. - and the second plot will be used solely for fruit/veg. One of the other plot holders has a smashing dessert grape vine (home made wine) and sweetcorn grows well.

        Let's see what happens :spinning:

Decided to spruce up the allotment shed - after much deliberation have settled on a dark green coloured paint called 'willow' - this is what it looks like on the shed. Palpitations this morning as it looks like blue in the tin and goes on blue.

Today's effort - 4 new raised beds - the 8 x 10 greenhouse will go in between these. Finishing beds tomorrow after the battery screwdriver has had a good charge. The courgette was gifted by another allotment holder - yummy in a stir fry. DSC_0012.JPG DSC_0009.JPG

I've just returned from the AGM - and all of a sudden I'm on the Committee - not sure exactly how it happened.:th scifD36:

I really should take more notice at meetings like this

@clanless . I know I'm a bit late to this party. I bought lonicera halliana from Morrison's earlier this summer. It has taken off really well. It's already over 6 ft tall.

Picked up another pair of honeysuckle from Morrisons yesterday :blue thumb:- variety 'Red World' - again evergreen/semi evergreen according to the severity of the Winter.

Still 4 GBP each - but well worth it - these will be replacing the Passion Flower in my back garden - which don't seem to do too well in my clay soil. I know that the 'Red World' will do well because the 'Copper Beauty' has to be cut back with a hedge trimmer .

                      Today's effort:

Filling up raised beds with some lovely compost - shed now painted - picket fence to go in front of composters - painted the same colour as the planter and shed -

                      DSC_0020.JPG

Painted planter with a couple of strawberries -

                      DSC_0022.JPG

Thinking about what to do next - the allsorts canister contains tea bags - not so much to keep then fresh but to stop mice getting at them -
